Description
NA This is a synopsis of proposed solicitation number DAAD16-02-T-0133 for plain weave aramid blend (92% Nomex/5% Kevlar/3% P-140) fabric conforming to type II, class 5 requirements of MIL-C-83429B, dated May 26, 1993, except that the fabric shall be printed in the Desert MARPAT Camouflage Pattern. Government GFM will be: the MARPAT desert standard shade sample and the Mylar films needed for print screens. Natick personnel will need to be present during initial printing to determine shade matching, pattern execution and acceptance of the printed fabric. Final yardage acceptance will be 1500 + 0% / up to - 10% if only one contractor is awarded the entire quantity. A split award may be made if more than one contractor is willing to produce 750 yards or less. MIL-C-83429B can be found at http://www.dodssp.daps.mil/. The purpose of this acquisition is to demonstrate the capability of the vendor(s) to print the MARPAT desert pattern on aramid blend fabric used in the combat vehicle crewmen?s uniforms. The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, located at the U. S. Army Soldier & Biological Chemical Command, Natick, MA will award up to three (3) purchase orders (within funding constraints). Depending on the number of pu rchase orders awarded, quantity will vary from a minimum quantity of 500 yards per purchase order to a maximum quantity of 1500 yards per purchase order. The required delivery of the printed fabric (minimum 500 yards, maximum 1500 yards) is 90 days after award of contract. Offerors may propose a different delivery schedule in their proposals that may provide earlier delivery, but may not propose a delivery date later than the Government's required delivery time. The ship-to addresses for the material is: U.S. Army Soldier Biological & Chemical Command, Natick, MA, 01760. All items shall be preserved, packaged and shipped in accordance with best commercia l practices to the above location. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 313311. For the purpose of this requirement, any concern employing 1000 or fewer employees is considered a small business. The anticipated opening and closing response date of the proposed solicitation is: Open August 26, 2002; Close September 09, 2002. Inquiries shall be submitted to: U. S.
