Description

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Health Professions is soliciting proposals from sources with the capability to develop a mechanism for coordinating efforts for the education of health professions in genetics between and among professional societies in human genetics, health professional societies, for-profit corporations in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, managed-care organizations, consumer advocacy groups, academic institutions and government agencies. The contractor would be responsible for promoting access to information about educating health professionals in the advances in human genetics by facilitating frequent and open communication between stakeholder groups; educating a broad range of health professionals about the implications for health care of continued, rapid progress in genetics and genomics; providing resources to faculty for educating clinicians and students across the health professions; demonstrate access to or ability to generate a database that encompasses the entire genetic and health care and academic community; and expand the reach of genetic medicine and health care. It is anticipated that a five (5) year contract will be awarded.
