- NA The project covered by this statement consists of, but is not limited to, furnishing and installing all plant, labor, supplies, equipment, materials, fabrications and transportation, and supervision; and in completing all work for the installation of a bas e-wide wireless transceiver fire alarm reporting system. The project includes removal of existing hard-wired fire alarm transmitters, installation of wireless transceivers, and associated antennae, the removal of existing command center control devices, an d the installation of new. The project also includes the training of Air National Guard personnel for the new system. All work is to be accomplished in accordance with the plans and specifications and Sections A through J of the Contract. Performance period is 150 days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Estimated magnitude of construction is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Subject to the following special qualifications, this project is being issued on an unrestricted basis to contractors qualified to perform under NAICS Code 235310. Special qualifications: Prior to award, the Contractor shall submit data showing that the c ontractor is factory trained and certified to install the proposed system, and has successfully installed radio fire alarm systems or has a firm contractual agreement with a subcontractor having such required qualifications. The data shall include a copy o f the factory training certificate and the names and locations of at least two installations where the Contractor, or the subcontractor referred to above, has installed such systems. The Contractor shall indicate these systems have performed satisfactorily in the manner intended for a period of not less than 18 months. In addition, the prime contractor must perform at least 50 percent of the awarded work. (See numbered note 23) Requests for solicitation packages may be faxed to (508) 233-6691. Solicitation documents are scheduled to be issued on or about 19 August 2002 with a Bid Opening Date of September 18, 2002. Only one (1) solicitation package will be provided to each individual requestor, with priority given to those qualified to perform u nder NAICS code 235310, on a first come first served basis. Instructions on how, when and where to purchase plans and specifications will be included in the solicitation package. Because of time constraints in awarding this contract by September 30, pay particular attention to Section L of the solicitation for required administrative information that the apparent low bidder will have to provide within 48 hours of being notified of being the apparent low bidder. Delays in providing the requested information may result in the second apparent low bidder, and so forth, being considered for award.
