- Description
- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) plans to issue a draft solicitation on or about August 17, 2002, to support the National Driver Register's data processing and communications needs. All of the NDR's technical and general support requirements for data processing and telecommunications network management as defined in the draft solicitation must be met. The Government plans to issue a draft competitive solicitation using the SIC Code 7379 or the NAIC Code 514210 with a SBA Size Standard of $21 million. The Government seeks industry comments on the draft specification and portions of the solicitation, and will provide industry with 30 days from the time of Internet posting to comment. The Government contemplates a fixed unit price contract based on the number of MIPS used to meet a service level for telecommunications and teleprocessing. The period of performance is for a base period of three years with options for four (4) additional one-year periods. The draft solicitation is being issued to solicit industry's comments on the approach to fulfilling requirements, planned terms and conditions of the proposed contract, instructions for proposal preparation, and evaluation approaches. All comments received will be considered, however, the Government reserves the right to issue the final solicitation, as it deems appropriate. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. The draft solicitation for comments and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the FedBizOpps page is www.fedbizopps.gov or www.eps.gov . It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
