- Description
- This is a notice of intent to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, with Hoxworth Blood Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, for estimated quantities of red blood cells, blood products, and procedures for VA Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio. The applicable NAICS code for this solicitation is 621991 with a size standard of $8.5 million. The intended contract will be for the period October 1 2002 through September 30, 2003 with one renewal option. This procurement is based on the determination that the government?s minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from only one source because of the requirement to make emergency deliveries within one hour. Other persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement by August 23, 2002. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their qualifications/capabilites by submitting literature and documentation, detailing their experience in providing these products, to the Contracting Officer or by facsimile to (513) 475-6334. Such qualifications/capabilities will be perused solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable and responses received after August 23, 2002 will not be considered.
