Description
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) is issuing this Sources Sought for a ??BIO Mass Energy Company?? to provide the following services: 1- Provide for 100% total destruction of 75,333,413 net pounds of Flue-cured tobacco, 149,434,235 net pounds of Burley tobacco, 182,749 gross pounds of Cigar Binder tobacco and 20,060,100 pounds of corrugated cardboard. The flue-cured and burley tobacco is stored in 475-pound corrugated cardboard box containers and the Cigar Binder tobacco is packaged in 45-pound bales strapped with twine. 2- Contractor shall be a certified EPA bio-mass energy company with permits in place to provide destruction of the tobacco and cardboard through their waste to energy program. 3- Contract award shall be limited to the following regions due to transportation cost: ?h Mid Atlantic States (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia) ?h Midwest States (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin) ?h Southeast States (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) 4- Take delivery of all tobacco by truck and/or railroad within 6 months after contract award. 5- Provide 24/7 security for the stored tobacco in a fenced in area at the destruction site. 6- Provide 100% total destruction of the tobacco within 18 months after contract award. 7- Allow a CCC representative to inspect the tobacco during storage and the destruction process.
