Description

NA This is a request for proposals from industry for the Capitol Peak Tunnel Complex. The scope of work consists of excavating a tunnel complex on the northwestern side of Capitol Peak on the White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. The tunnel complex is site d near the base of the mountain with side slopes of about 30 degrees. Loose alluvial cover at the tunnel complex site range up to 30 feet in depth. Tunnel portals and staging pads will be established on the same elevation as the access road. The tunnels will be excavated primarily in granite with minor basic intrusives. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed-price contract with a period of performance to be nine months from date of contract award. The magnitude of this construction project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. A pre-proposal conference/site visist is scheduled at WSMR for 10-11 June 2002.
