Description

NIH, National Institute on Aging, Intramural Research Program, Laboratory of Neurogenetics, Building 10, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892 intends to purchase on a sole source basis with Amersham Biosciences, 800 Centennial Avenue, Piscataway, NY, 08854. The purpose of this request is to purchase a Molecular Dynamics Storm 860 Phosphorimager Imaging System with unmounted, GP, 20x25cm and 35x49cm screens & cassettes. This instrument will be used in the Lab to replace film autoradiography in the lab for capture of nucleic acid (RNA and DNA) blots and microarray results. This instrument will be able to use non-radiactive sources of signal in order to facilitate the development of non-radioactive assays for the lab and to reduce radioactivity isotope usage, storage, and exposure.
