Description
The following are questions and answers received in response to RFQ02Q0142: 1Q: When you refer to the sidecars being delivered as "Rolling Stock", are we to assume you want them fully assembled, ready to bolt on? 1A: Yes. The sidecars must be delivered fully assembled and ready to bolt on. 2Q: Regarding the one-year maintenance package: Harley-Davidson recommends service intervals be accomplished at 2,500 miles, not 3,000. Do you want the package set up to follow the manufacturers guidelines? AND what is the estimated mileage the department will put on these vehicles in one year? 2A: Yes. The maintenace package must be set-up to follow the manufacturer's guidelines (i.e., service to be accomplished at 2,500 miles). The estimated mileage the agency will put on the vehicles is 25,000 to 30,000 per year. 3Q: Regarding emergency equipment: Whelen does not sell directly to dealers, so the Whelen system number provided in the solicitation does not apply. Please provide a complete breakdown of the number, type and color of lights to be included in the system including their location. Additionally, the "emergency equipment screws, and hangar brackets for emergency equipment may vary depending on how and where they are to be used. Please provide a better description of what you want and we can determine what is actually needed that may or may not come with a package deal. 3A: The requirement for "2EA Emergency Equipment to include strobe light package, siren, and installation labor (#WH2113)" specified in the solicitation/synopsis is hereby deleted in its' entirety. 4Q: Re Exhaust. Please provide manufacturer name and style to include style of end caps. 4A: The exhaust manufacturer is Harley Davidson, Model No. 128-7020, with tempered end caps. 5Q: Regarding the required delivery date of September 30, 200[2]. At this point in time (August 8, 200[2]), Harley-Davidson, Inc. is projecting delivery of police motorcycles 120 days from receipt of the written purchase order. (This is delivery to the dealer) after they arrive, we will need 7-10 days to fully prep and accessorize the motorcycles. Please advise on the rigidity of the required delivery date. 5A: The delivery dates specified in the solicitation/synopsis are changed to read as follows: Desired Delivery Date: 30 September 2002; Required Delivery Date: 130 Days After Receipt of Order. All other requirements contained in the solicitation/synopsis are unchanged. The closing date and time for receipt of quotes remains August 14, 2002, 4:00 PM Local Time.
