- Description
- Furnish and Install an Aircraft Wash Rack Fall Protection System. This is an Air Force aircraft maintenance facility having heights when maintenance is performed of a worker being more than 6 feet off the floor. This presents a hazard to the employee within the definition of OSHA standards per 29CFR 1926.501(b)(1) and/or 29CFR 1910.132(a). This project shall follow current OSHA standards. Provide and install eight (8) Latch Ways Single Span fall protection systems in building numbers 114 and 115. There shall be four (4) Latch Ways stem in each building as follows: Fuselage: Two parallel Latch Ways System approximately 60ft long attached to the existing structure. The systems will be located on either side of the overhead lighting and centered over the engine cowlings as close as possible. Each system shall accommodate two (2) maintenance personnel. Each system will be equipped with two (2) Self-retracting Lifelines (SRLs). Wings: One Latch Ways System approximately 35ft long attached to new 8?x8?x20? steel square tubing to be painted safety yellow. The systems will be parallel to each of the wing structures and centered. The stems will run from a point located just outside of the two parallel fuselage system and continue to the side of the building structure. Installed in this manner the system will provide uninterrupted travel the complete length of all horizontal lifelines. Each wing system will accommodate one (1) maintenance person. Each system will be equipped with one (1) Self-retracting Lifeline (SRL). Installation shall meet manufacturer requirements with testing and certification of end anchors and lifelines done by a qualified technician on site. The system performance will be recorded on an installation certificate as part of the system. The following items shall be included within quote: Complete installation of cable systems, fittings and related hardware. All Travel Expenses and Per Diem. Design and Installation drawing issued for construction. Supply and Install fabricated supports as described in specifications. Personnel man lift or crane as required. State of Louisiana engineer?s seal, if required. Freight Charges. One (1) training session for all required maintenance personnel in correct use and maintenance of system; to be held at the completion of installation. This is provided in order to satisfy the OSHA training requirement of personal protective equipment (PPE) training per 29CFR1910.132(f). Additional PPE training session(s) requested shall be provided at an additional price to be quoted at the time of training based on travel arrangements and cost. Full Body Harness with grommet leg straps.
