Description

THIS IS AN AMENDMENT TO THE ORGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT. THE SITE VISIT DATE HAS CHANGED TO AUGUST 22, 2002 AND THE SOLICITATION WILL BE POSTED ON OR ABOUT AUGUST 12, 2002. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Wellsboro, PA., has a requirement for a contractor to provide construction services. This acquisition is under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials and any other items necessary for the completion of construction services briefly described below. EQUIPMENT BOILER ROOM - The contractor will be responsible for removal of debris. The contractor will be responsible for protecting the flooring, walls and doors from damage and keeping the area cleaned daily. ***The contractor shall submit a bid price for each option with a total price for all. Funding will determine which or if all options will be awarded.*** Option #1 controls on air handler #1-2-3 - The contractor will install new pneumatic controls and damper actuators on the existing air handlers #1.#2 and #3 to control automatically cooling and heating water and or outside air; Option #2 air handler #3 downsizing supply air - The existing air handler #3 was rated for 25,700 CFM. The total fan CFM must be reduced to 17,636 CFM; Option #3 new boiler - The contractor will install a new Weil-McLain or AB Smith boiler with an input capacity of 500 MBH and an output capacity of 400MBH natural gas fired boiler; Option #4 replacing overhead piping in Dry Lab - The contractor shall replace the overhead hot and cold water piping in the Dry Lab area; Option #5 reheat coils for Clean Labs - The contractor must install 2 new reheat coils, thermostats, ductwork and piping to match the existing reheat heating system; Option #6 replace existing cooling coils - The contractor must remove the existing cooling coils and replace with new (6) six row cooling coils from York International Corporation or equal on air handlers #1 & #2; and Option #7 degasser tank replacement - The contractor shall disassemble the existing degasser tower as needed to replace the existing 1500 gallon concrete degasser storage tank. The construction requirements consists of the contractor completing all work as specified on the walk through, written scope, and all items as shown on the drawings, furthermore the contractor shall do field verifications on measurements and on counts of all items. The contractor shall point out any conflicts between the drawings and area of work during the site visit. The site visit shall be on August 22, 2002 at the USGS, Northern Appalachian Research Lab. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Quotes are due at 2:00 p.m. EST on August 28, 2002.
