Description
The Air Armament Center at Eglin AFB FL will be hosting the fifth-annual Air Armament Summit on 11-13 March 2003. Summit V will review and assess long-range strategic plans for air armament. Although attendance at the Summit itself must be limited, an effort is being made to expand industry participation through involvement in the Summit?s strategy planning panels. This announcement invites such participation. The strategy panel kick off meeting will be held on 4-5 Sept 2002, at Eglin AFB FL. U.S. companies able to contribute to an air armament strategic plan through 2025 or those who are actively involved in research, development, testing, manufacturing, and/or sustainment of air armament are invited to participate on the following strategy planning panels: Global Environment, Threat, and Military Strategies; Digital Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis; Science and Technology; and Industrial Base. Materiel to be presented at Summit V will be developed by strategy panels composed of senior industry participants and key personnel from throughout the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Army. Participation on the strategy panels requires a secret-level clearance. The National Defense Industrial Association will be coordinating industry participation on the strategy panels. Industry will be limited to two participants per company/panel. This announcement is for planning purposes only and does not constitute an invitation for contracting of any nature. Participation in the proposed Summit panels is voluntary and does not create any obligation on the U.S. Government. Prospective representatives are requested to submit names, position title, addresses (phones, e-mails and fax), and a summary of the company area(s) of expertise and preferred participation to Mr. Robert Blake, Secretary, NDIA, NLT 19 Aug 2002, Phone: 850-651-2558, Fax 850-651-3588. Please fax security clearances (valid through 1 Apr 2003) to Ms. Vickie Burkett, 850-882-5548. Phone: 850-882-2238, ext. 465, e-mail: summit@eglin.af.mil. Do not contact Patty Uhrig listed below.
