- Description
- SOL # N00024-02-R-5433 John C. Piunno, Contract Specialist, SEA 02541P, 202-781-3912 On 12 August 2002 the Navy issued a revised DRAFT Request for Proposals (RFP) to encourage industry participation in the review of the Evolved SEASPARROW Missile (ESSM) Launching System (ELS) for compatibility with MK 57 NATO SEASPARROW Missile System (NSSMS), as installed in USN CV/CVN Class Ships, and LHD Class Ships. The Navy will convene a Briefing for Industry for the purpose of providing any necessary additional clarifying information on Thursday, 15 August 2002, at 10:00AM at the NATO SEASPARROW Project Office, 727 South 23rd Street, Arlington, VA 22202. The Briefing for Industry will address revisions made to the draft RFP. For administrative ease, any additional questions on the draft RFP should be written on 3 X 5 cards for submission at the Industry Briefing. Questions may also be submitted prior to Industry Day to: Commander, ATTN: John C. Piunno, Code 02541P; Naval Sea Systems Command; 1333 Isaac Hull Avenue SE, Stop 2040; Washington Navy Yard, DC 20376-2040, or via facsimile transmission to the above addressee at 202-781-4654, or by e-mail to Piunnojc@navsea.navy.mil. Firms interested in attending the Briefing must notify John Piunno via FAX or e-mail with attendees identified. Space is limited therefore we request firms attending keep the number of attendees to a minimum. The Government will consider all comments received. Any subsequent revision of the DRAFT RFP remains solely at the Government's discretion. Firms interested in contracting or subcontracting opportunities are encouraged to make known their interests in order that a Bidder's List can be established for other firms or individuals that may be interested in subcontractin g opportunities. This is not a request for proposals, a promise to issue a request for proposals, nor a promise by the Government to pay for information received in response to this synopsis or any subsequent synopsis announcing the availability of draft specifications for industry participation and feedback. Issuance of a DRAFT RFP does not obligate the Government to award a contract and does not restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition strategy. The Government plans to proceed with issuance of a formal RFP by September 2002.
