Description
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration,(SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment(CSAT), through the Program Support Center (PSC), plans to award a sole source simplified acquisition to Levas, Inc., 200 High Point Drive, Suite 21, Chalfont, PA, 18914. The period of performance is twelve months from date of award. The anticipated date of award is September 1, 2002. Substance use leading to serious behavioral and/or health problems continues to be commonplace in all communities, and the prevalence of illicit drug use today is higher in the United States than in any other industrialized society. This requirement will provide support for CSAT's in sponsoring a three-day workshop on substance abuse, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other co-occurring diseases that affecting minorities. The workshop will be convened in conjunction with the Art Expose in Philadelphia, PA. Approximately 25,000 people are expected to attend this three-day event. In addition, this effort is designed to recruit and encourage the faith community to become more involved in addressing the health problems of their communities; and become knowledgeable about this President Faith and Community Initiative and the Compassionate Care Initiative. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No Solicitation is available.
