Description
The purpose of this announcement is to seek competent and qualified firms who specialize in fire protection systems. The project calls for the installation of updated fire detection and suppression systems at the Auburn, WA Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC). This includes installation of a Viking Firecycle III ON/OFF Fire Sprinkler system in the Control Wing Basement, removal of an existing Halon fire protection system and installation of a Dry Pipe Fire Sprinkler System in the Garage and Power Service Building. Offeror must submit proof of NICET Level IV certification as a sprinkler designer or registration as a Licensed Professional Fire Protection Engineer for the designer. The contract performance time is 90 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The ARTCC is a 24-hour, 7-day a week operational facility. Much of the work will be in highly sensitive areas, over and under critical equipment. Risk management will be a high priority. Contractor will need to coordinate activities to allow for a full-time escort while on the ARTCC grounds. Prospective offerors MUST perform a site visit to assess the actual conditions before submitting an offer. Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria: (a) Price (b) Offerors experience in Viking Firecycle III fire protection systems (c) Past performance on contracts of like systems at similar facilities and of similar magnitude (d) Offerors demonstrated ability to deliver performance on schedule Price will be evaluated separately, and only with firms who have been qualified as technically acceptable.
