Description

Notice of intent for a sole source award. This is not an RFP. The Federal Highway Administration anticipates a sole source award to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to support the deployment of the Transportation Analysis and Simulation System (TRANSIMS) model at up to six pilot sites. TRANSIMS is a travel forecasting procedure designed to be used by Transportation Planning Organizations (TPOs), Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPOs) or other entities. The core of TRANSIMS was developed by the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). PwC was selected by LANL through a competitive cost sharing procurement process to develop a commercially viable, user-friendly version of TRANSIMS. PwC has developed the only commercial version of TRANSIMS. There is no other firm that possesses the integral knowledge of TRANSIMS necessary for the deployment support at the pilot sites. It is anticipated that an award will be made by 30 Sep 02.
