Description
NA SCOPE OF WORK REBUILD AND REPAIR OF THE PLS CTIS MANIFOLD I General: This scope of work covers the rebuild and repair of the CM Automotive Systems central tire inflation system (CTIS) manifolds NSN 4730-01-359-9679 and 4730-01-359-5048, used on the Palletized Load System (PLS). Commander USA TACOM ATTN: AMSTA-LC-CHHE Warren, MI 48397-5000 II Not needed III Requirements: A. Definitions: 1 Rebuild: The disassembly, cleaning, testing and inspection of the manifold assembly and its components to determine and accomplish the work necessary to restore the manifold to its original performance condition. 2 Repair: Restoring a component to its original performance condition, replacing parts if necessary. 3 OEM: The original equipment manufacturer. The company that originally manufactured fabricated or supplied the CTIS manifold or part. OEM may include items manufactured by a subcontractor for an original equipment manufacturer, provided that the name or t rademark of the OEM is shown on the item, label, or container. 4 After Market Part: Any part or component that has been manufactured or fabricated by a company other than the original equipment manufacturer their approved subcontractors and sold as a replacement part for an OEM part or component. 5 Serviceable Part: Any part that is capable of meeting or exceeding the minimum OEM standards for performing the function for which it was originally designed. 6 Non serviceable part: Any part that no longer meets minimum OEM standards. 7 Mandatory Replacement Parts: Parts/components which shall be replaced on each manifold that is rebuilt or repaired. B. Manifold Rebuild and Repair: 1 All manifolds returned for repairs will be assigned to one of the following categories: Minor Repairs, Major Repairs/Complete Overhaul. Replacement. a. Minor repairs: Most units with under five years of operation will fall into this category unless it has been in an accident the unit has been subjected to an external power surge, or been shorted out. b. Major Repairs: Most units with five to 10 years of operation are expected to be included in this category, unless they have been used in extreme temperature conditions, in salt water or a dusty environment. The service effort requires complete disassem bly, overhaul or replacement of major components. Replacement: Units, which do not fall into or qualify for the above two categories, will require replacement by a new unit. Repaired manifolds must maintain the same vehicle interface as the original equipment component. Performing to the standards of this SOW will produce a serviceable component issuable without restrictions. C. Performance/Testing 1 All manifolds falling under the Minor Repair category will be tested on a pneumatic bench for a minimum of 12 settings. 2 All manifolds falling under the Major Repair category will be tested on a pneumatic bench for a minimum of 24 pressure settings. D. Disposal Disposal of non repairable manifolds will be the responsibility of the repairing contractor. E. Packaging Preservation, Packaging, and Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-SPEC 129 for all repaired manifolds. IV Warranty All manifolds will be free from all defects in material and construction. The duration of this warranty will be as follows: All manifolds having minor repairs will be warranted for a period of 120 days after installation or six months from the date of shipment, whichever comes first. Units having major repairs will be warranted for nine months after installation or 12 months fr om the date of shipment, whichever comes first. All new units w ill be warranted for a period of 18 months from date of shipment. This buy is restricted to CM Automotive.
