Description
NASA/DFRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for NASA B52H Project REF: X37 Engineering Specification REF: 080202 NASA X37 Rev 1 Specification Input AC 115 Volt/ 400 Hz Output Voltage #1 32 VDC to 34 VDC ** Externally Adjustable Output Current #1 30 Amps Ripple .04% RMS Regulation + / - 2 % of the set voltage across the load range Short Circuit Protection 120 % of Load Current Thermal Protection Thermal Overload will result in Shutdown of unit Cooling External forced air cooling is required. Optional Heat Sink Available to assist in heat dissipation. Mounting Vertical Mounting Mounting Orientation Terminal UP Operating Temperature Range - 55 Degrees C to 71 Degrees C Storage Temperature Range - 62 Degrees C to 105 Degrees C Size 13.06 x 9.875 x 8 ( all dimensions in inches) Weight 60 LBS * Estimated Special Features Overvoltage Protection Two circuits: Circuit 1 set at 36.5 V DC for longer than 1 millisecond duration. Circuit 2 set at 37.5 V DC for longer than 10 microseconds duration. Remote Sense Terminals will be provided allowing a remote sense capability, providing automatic regulation to the "set" voltage, within the above specified range. Remote sense terminals will be shorted externally for connection by customer if remote sense will be used. If short on terminals is not removed, for connection of a remote sense point, regulation will be provided referenced to the output of the power supply. Special Testing Altitude and Temperature Test Condition #1. Begin testing process at ambient temperature and altitude/ Test and record functional parameters Test Condition #2.Increase altitude to 60,000 feet and reduce temperature to -65 Degrees F, and dwell for one hour / Test and record functional parameters Test Condition #3.Return power supply to ambient temperature and altitude / Test and record functional parameters VibrationPower Supplies shall operate successfully while being subjected for 20 minutes in each of 3 mutually perpendicular axes to random vibration per Curve B as referenced in NASA's Process Specification No 21-2. If during testing any resonant frequencies are encountered they shall be recorded and at the test engineers discretion the unit shall be vibrated a maximum of two) minutes dwell at each resonant frequency. 3 EA 227-XXXX* See specs above. 3 EA Heat Sink Assembly, 1 lot Non-Recurring Engineering, 1 lot Environmental Testing. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/DFRC intends to purchase the items from Technipower, which supports the X-37 project, the requirements demand power supplies regulate output voltage to very exact values under the extreme environment of flight at high altitude. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 22, 2002. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
