- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking vendors who can provide a firewall appliance solution for SSA??s Central Office Firewall and the Disability Determination Services (DDS) infrastructures. For years, SSA has successfully used, and continues to use, a Check Point based solution running on an AIX platform. As Firewall technology shifts from an OS platform to a hardware appliance solution, SSA looks to move in this direction while leveraging its existing Check Point licenses. The hardware solution must also be able to support E-Security??s E- Sentinel software. The components must provide the following: ?h Must use a UNIX BSD operating system Use Checkpoint Firewall software version 4.1; ?h Must have full routing capabilities. (rip, ipv6, irgp, bgp, etc) ; ?h Operate in a Proxy ARP environment; ?h Centralized manager for maintenance and deployment of operating system and Checkpoint software; ?h Must have 10/100/1000 FX or 100 TX interfaces; ?h Must be able to support up to 8 separate Ethernet interfaces; ?h Must have 16mb token ring interface cards; ?h Must be able to support 16 mbs token ring networks; ?h Must support High Availability; ?h Must have SSH 1 and 2 support built into the operating kernel; ?h Must have Tripwire support; ?h Must have online documentation help built-in; ?h Must have a certificate generator build in for ssl certificates; ?h Logging and Reporting capabilities; ?h Ability to send alert e-mail; ?h Must have 24 x 7 support with 4 hours response time on telephone support. All support must be done with manufacture certified hardware and operating system engineers; ?h Must have next business day hardware replacement; ?h Must provide 3 days on site training of hardware with certified hardware and operating systems Engineers; ?h Must have scalability to support Checkpoint Sofaware (small office enterprise software); and ?h Must be able to integrate E-Security??s E - Sentinel software in to the hardware solution, with manufacturing certified E-Security engineers; Interested vendors able to provide the required hardware solution are invited to submit information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to meet SSA??s requirements. Technical literature is essential. Vendors responding should indicate whether the candidate products are available on the GSA schedule. Cost or pricing data may be submitted. This is not a request for proposals (RFP) and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the data received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA??s assessment of capable sources. Responses to this notice should be submitted in duplicate within 15 days of the publication of this notice and should refer to ??Firewall Appliance??. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
