Description

USAID/Egypt intends to execute a modification to contract number 263-C-00-97-00003-00 with Abt associates Inc., of P.O. Box 84-5586, Boston, MA 02284-5586. The modification will be implemented over a nine month period and extend the current contract by the same period. The activities for the extension will be editing and publishing a book that includes the papers which were presented in the APRP/MVE June 2002 conference. The conference papers were produced and presented by Abt Associates Inc. and USAID staff. USAID/Egypt intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of AIDAR 706.302-70(b)(5). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within thirty days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposal modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
