Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a sole source contract with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), 2101 Constitution Avenue, Washington, D.C. under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) - Only one responsible source. This procurement requires independent expertise of the nationally recognized membership of the NAS/Computer Science and Telecommunications Board (CSTB). NAS is uniquely qualified to perform this requirement based on its breadth of available academic, government and private sector resources from which it draws its expertise and knowledge in the areas of information technology. The CSTB will study and develop interdisciplinary reports on new research agendas, computer/communications security issues, computing and communications developments, and strategic analysis of the implications of new technologies. The period of performance for this requirement is from award of the contract through one year thereafter, with four (4) additional 1-year option periods. The Government anticipates the award of a cost-reimbursement (no fee) contract. The proposed requirement is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
