- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is soliciting proposals in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). This solicitation is open to all business concerns. The purpose of this procurement is to identify key issues in surveillance and research (the first 3 portions of the model) that will form the basis for a portion of the discussion at the Advisory Committee meeting. Issues related to the fourth step of the model (dissemination) are also to be included, although they are not the major focus of this purchase order. The recipient will develop a paper with input from a wide range of trauma surgeons involved in research into and academic work related to trauma surgery. This paper will use the public health approach as a basis. It will include the following: Part 1: Proposed Project Plan. The vendor will provide a brief description of project plan including timelines. Part 2: Background. Description of the role of trauma surgeons in the public health response to injuries. Brief description of major studies or efforts undertaken by trauma surgeons to date in the public health response to injuries. Summary of the portions of existing plans and agendas that relate to the public health response of trauma surgeons to injuries, including the CDC Injury Research Agenda. Brief description of the major gaps in the public health response to trauma that could be filled by the trauma surgery community (using the public health approach as a framework). The period of performance for this procurement shall be August through November 2002. Vendor shall provide the following deliverables to the Project Office by the dates required: A. Propose Project Plan-two weeks after purchase order receipt. B. Final Report-November 1, 2002. Minimum Vendor Qualifications: 1. The Vendor must be a national organization whose principal purpose is to represent Trauma Surgeons. 2. Membership must be made up of Trauma Surgeons from at least 25 states. 3. The organization must have a primary focus on issues of primary focus on issues of primary interest to Trauma Surgeons with interest in conducting surveillance and research and publishing results in peer review literature. 4. The organization must have a primary interest in stimulating investigation of methods for preventing and treating traumatic injuries and enhancing the study of trauma surgery. Any responsible Offeror may submit a proposal by email or fax that wil be considered by the Government. This advertisement does not commit the Government to award a contract. No collect calls will be accepted.
