Description
The Agency for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatmemt (CSAT), through the Division of Acquisitions Management (DAM), Program Support Center, plans to award a 06 month sole source contract using simplified acquisition to the Ohio Dept of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, 280 North High Street, 12th Floor, Columbus, OH 43215. The anticipated date of award is August 26, 2002. This contract request is to support the National TASC Ninth Annual Conference on Drugs and Crime. The conference will be held in Denver, Colorado from September 29-October 2, 2002 at the Adams Mark Hotel. The theme of the conference is: Partnerships for Building Safer Communities: Diverse Approaches-Emerging Trends. The contractor shall organize and implement the Conference on September 29-October 2, 2002, at the Adams Mark Hotel, Denver, Colorado. Initial preparation for the 9th Annual Conference must begin immediately. The preparation of the Conference must begin immediately and within one week from the effective date of the contract the contractor shall conduct a telephone call with the Project Officer to discuss the specific tasks to be accomplished under the contract. The contractor shall conduct telephone calls monthly with the Project Officer to review the status of the conference preparation activities. The contractor shall facilitate Project Officer's participation in the Conference Advisory Committee meetings and make PO part of the overall agenda and design of the conference. The contractor shall provide all logistical support for SAMHSA to operate a display booth at the conference. If SAMHSA is able to provide staff support it will do so; if not, the contractor shall provide staff to man the display booth as needed. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available.
