- Description
- The FAA is seeking qualified firms to perform the subject restroom renovation work as stated below at the Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Center, Oberlin, Ohio. Work consists of but is not limited to the following: 1) Removal of hazardous materials in the project area consisting of: 32 EA fittings, 238 LF door caulking, 300 SF lead paint, 1,380 SF VAT flooring, 248 SF wood paneling, 25 EA light fixtures, 2) Installation of dustproof partitions around demolition work areas, 3) Demolition of existing walls, floor & ceiling finishes, doors, frames, lighting, plumbing and HVAC, 4) Construction of same, 5) Paint new and existing wall & ceiling surfaces, 6) Repair concrete floor slab in order to install new carpet, and floor tile, 7) Install new water closets and all new restroom accessories and fixtures, 8) Install new plumbing accessories which includes: valves, waterproof membrane, cold/hot water supply/return piping, vent, drain and sanitary lines, and drip pans, 9)! Install new supply/return and exhaust air ductwork, thermostat and controls, diffusers, registers & grilles, 10) Calibrate and rebalance system, 11) Install new electrical wiring, conduit, receptacles, breakers, lights, switches and speakers, and 12) Other miscellaneous work as required per the drawings and specifications. FIRMS WHO PREVIOUSLY APPLIED NEED NOT RE-APPLY. Offer range is between $300,000 to $450,000 with a performance time of approximately 60 calendar days. Construction start is expected to be in the October 2002 timeframe. Interested firms should request a pre-qualification Screening Information Request (SIR) Application No. DTFA14-02-R-34271. Requests will be honored via fax (847/294-7801) or letter only. No telephone requests will be accepted. REQUESTS FOR THE SIR PACKAGE WILL BE ACCEPTED ON OR BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS AUGUST 23, 2002. Upon completion of evaluation process, only those firms determined to be qualified will be sent a Request for Offer! (RFO). The RFO is anticipated to be available September 2002. FOR INFORMATION ONLY: Information on assistance programs for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $5! 00,000.
