- NA Market Survey for Infantry Helmet Headset This is a Request for Information (RFI) Market Survey to determine availability of a new Infantry Helmet Headset expected for future requirements. This headset shall interface with and work properly with the existing AN/VIC-3, also called the Vehicular In tercommunications System (VIS). This headset will be intended for use by infantry passengers of tactical wheeled vehicles and operate in a noise environment of approximately 95 dB(A). The headset will need to comfortably fit when worn with the PASGT infa ntry helmet shell and not be difficult to don or remove, nor limit the soldiers? ability to egress with minimum delays. The headset is intended to provide hands-off two-way communications for the crewmember and provide hearing protection at high noise lev els like those encountered during military operations, meeting the Surgeon General?s requirements for exposure to noise. The source should provide with his response the specification sheet (s), performance specification (s), test plan and test data, as ap plicable, to show compliance with requirements. This item may be considered Commercial Item (CI) or Non-Developmental Item (NDI). A Capability Demonstration will be conducted for interested suppliers during the week of 23 September 2002.
