Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate soley with the Microsoft Corporation, 5335 Wisconsin Avenue, Washington, DC 20015 to acquire on-site technical support services that will focus on forthcoming network design and planning, future Microsoft releases, internal Microsoft business plans, access to Microsoft software code and developers, optimal hardware and software configurations and deployment of Microsoft products within SSA?s client/server environment. The current contract with the Microsoft Corporation expires on September 23, 2002. SSA plans to award a replacement Indefinite-Quantity Indefinite-Delivery contract with a base year and two-one year option years. We plan to issue a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items pursuant to FAR Subpart 12.6 and 13.5 ? Test Program for Certain Commercial Items utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Microsoft Corporation is the only known source capable of providing the required support service with access to their software code. Other firms possessing the technical expertise are invited to submit support documentation, e.g. proof of access to Microsoft?s software code, past performance, pricing information (GSA Schedule contract), etc to this office by the due date. Award is anticipated sometime during September - October, 2002. This is not a request for proposal. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response to this publication. Numbered Note 22.
