- Description
- Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6, Subparts 6.301, the U.S. Census Bureau (BOC) intends to award a sole source contract to John R. Murphy for services in support of the Data Access Dissemination Systems Office (DADSO) for a one-year base period and one-year option period. Value of contract including options is estimated to be $200,000. DADSO has an urgent need for a Contractor with extensive and in-depth knowledge of Census data product formatting, production, publication, and dissemination. These services will require comprehensive knowledge of tabulation, data product formatting, data accuracy and quality, and the operational flow of Census data from initial collection through final dissemination. The Contractor must have an in-depth knowledge of the Census Bureau's historical files, procedures, organizations, and operations. The Contractor shall assist with coordination of requirements with the DADSO system development contractor, and shall provide ongoing consultation to the DADSO Program Office in general areas of data products and activity scheduling. The Contractor shall assist in the development and execution of comprehensive testing plans. The Contractor shall assist in determining and documenting operational procedures in support of the production of summary data products. The Contractor shall work with product sponsors to further the specification of products appropriate to the various media in which the product will be released, and to devise review processes that contribute to the timely release of complete and accurate products. The Contractor shall assist in discussions relating to the preparation of schedules for such products and shall assist in arranging and tracking the delivery of handoffs from other BOC and Geography Division staff of data necessary to the production of such summary data products. The Contractor shall alert DADSO management to potential slippages and scheduling problems. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that they are capable of performing this work. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the Census Bureau's needs. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No solicitation document is available. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available. If no affirmative written response is received within 15 days from the publication of this synopsis, a contract may be issued to John R. Murphy without further notice.
