Description

NA Statement of Work For Partial Apron Restripe At Fresno ANG Base 1. General: 1.1 The contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, labor, etc., necessary to perform the work as described in the statement of work. All work shall conform to all applicable codes and accepted industry standards. 1.2 Working hours are negotiable. The contractor must complete work in 3 days (Fri-Sun). Contractor shall factor this schedule into bid. 1.3 The contractor shall submit for approval all materials (including MSDS of any chemicals) to be used on the job. Submittals will include, but are not limited to: a. Paint b. Glass Beads 1.4 Contractor shall take all precautions necessary to protect adjacent surfaces during construction. Contractor shall repair any damage at no additional cost to the Government. 1.5 The contractor shall provide a list of contract personnel names, social security numbers, and contractor or subcontractor names to the Base Civil Engineer?s office for access to the base. Names shall be submitted on an SP form 10 (attached) and must b e received 48 hours prior to requiring access to the installation. 2. Products 2.1 Lead-Free pavement marking paints under Federal Specification TT-P-1952. Paint Traffic and Airfield Marking, Waterborne. Select Type I, ?Ten minute no pick-up time? or Type II, ?Fast dry, high humidity formula. Apply at 12-14 mils for coverage of 121 (plus or minus 6) square feet per gallon (2.96 square meters per liter, plus or minus 165 square meters per liter). 2.2 Glass beads available under Federal Specification TT-B-1325, Beads, Retroreflective. Apply to paint or extruded markings using eight to nine pounds per gallon of paint, or 121 square feet (3.6-3.9 kg per 11.24 sq. meter). 2.2.1 Use Type I Gradation A beads, which have a refraction index of 1.5 for all taxiway and apron markings that must be reflective. 3. Execution: 3.1 All work shall be executed in accordance with the best practices of the trade and the entire project shall be completed within three days form the ?Notice to Proceed?. 3.2 Contractor shall sandblast or shot-blast existing markings in shown red, removing markings to expose bare concrete. Contractor shall relocate/add markings shown in blue and detailed below. All yellow color markings shall remain. 3.2.1 Relocate center taxi-lane 20 feet north of existing location. 3.2.2 Relocate north row safety semi-circles and nose wheel markings to line 56 feet directly north of existing locations, along existing taxi-line. Shorten taxi-line markings and provide new radiuses to new center taxi-line. 3.2.3 Extend south row taxi-lines and provide new radiuses to new center taxi-line. 3.2.4 Relocate spot numbers from old center taxi-line to match existing. 3.3 Colors for restriping shall be as follows: Taxi-lines shall be 6 inch yellow (Federal Standard 595, chip number 33538) with 6 inch black (Federal Standard 595, chip number 37038) borders. Nose-wheel markings shall be yellow triangle (per detail). Saf ety semi-circle shall be red (match existing). Inset numbers shall be black, see detail. 3.4 The contractor shall keep the area clean at all times. 3.5 The contractor shall repair any markings scheduled to remain damaged by paint operations/inadvertently removed or where markings were partially removed (i.e. touch up where nose-wheel and semi-circles are removed). 3.6 The contractor shall use the following quantities for bid purposes: Type of Marking Quantity Removed Quantity Replaced 6?
