Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. RFQ # DAAE30-02-Q-0215. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (01-07). The US Army ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal has the following requirement: SCOPE/OBJECTIVE: Engine lathe with 16? swing (minimum) and 54? to 60? bed length. Head stock to incorporate alloy steel gears hardened and ground.Main spindle for D1-6 camlock hardened nose with 1.75? (min) diameter spindle through hole. Spindle runout (TIR) not to exceed .0002 (maximum). Spindle speed to have a minimum range of 30 - 2,000 RPM.Induction hardened and ground bed ways Rockwell 45C (minimum). One-shot manual lubrication for bed and cross slide guide ways. Lathe to include tailstock with a #4 (minimum) Morse taper. Complete recirculating coolant system consisting of reservoir, piping and pump. Pump motor, if applicable, must meet the National Electric Code ?Class II, Division 1, Group G?. Engine lathe motor to have a 7.5 HP (minimum) rating and meet the National Electric Code ?Class II, Division 1, Group G?.The lathe must meet the National Electric Code ?Class II, Division 1, Group G?.Motor to be wired 230V, 3 phase, 60 hz and 115V control with forward, reverse and emergency stop.Complete ?on site? electrical installation for connecting to existing 230V power source. The necessary conduit, wiring, piping, etc. to be supplied by contractor. Automatic longitudinal and cross-slide disengagement to be installed. The longitudinal and cross-slide feeds to be equipped with digital read out (DRO). Mechanical safety clutch in the lead screw and safety shear pin in the feed rod. Must have inch/metric threading capabilities with thread chasing dial. Freight and rigging of the machine to be responsibility of the contractor. Installation to be provided by contractor at US Army, ARDEC, Bldg. 617G. Contractor to provide service set-up and start-up of installed engine lathe. Contractor to supply maintenance and operation manuals (2 sets). Required options and accessories are as follows:- 4 jaw independent chuck, 12? (min) dia.- self-centering 3 jaw chuck, 10? (min) dia.- face plate with T-slots, 16? dia. - taper attachment, installed - steady rest (hinged type) 3? to 6? capacity - micrometer carriage stop - tool post with holders- collet chuck (handwheel type) and steel collets. Contractor will provide information that verifies that equipment meets above requirements. This can include specifications, prints, brochures etc. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Warranty ? state if standard or optional, length and conditions, and cost if optional. Documented history (within past 3 years) of selling this item for similar applications, e.g., explosive materials or environments. The following provisions apply to this acquisition: 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial, 52.212-2, Evaluation -- Commercial Items, The evaluation procedures to be used are technical acceptability and price. Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, with their offer. 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions Commercial Items, 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required To Implement Statutes Or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items, A firm fixed price award will be made to the technically acceptable lowest price offeror. NOTE: This solicitation incorporates one or more solicitation provisions by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. The contractor will notify TACOM-ARDEC two weeks before delivery to allow personnel to make final site preparations.
