Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for services in support of its Mass Spectral Data Center (MSDC) to find data and, when necessary, perform experiments and analysis to add such data to the NIST MS Database. The specific areas for which the MSDC is seeking data are in the areas of medically relevant compounds (both volatile and nonvolatile), pesticides, metabolic by-products, drug candidate compounds, new drugs of abuse, and performance enhancing drugs. For each of these areas, data is sought for both the pure compound when volatile and the derivatized compounds when not. The specific derivatized compounds are the trimethylsilyl derivatives (TMS), the tertbutylldimethylsilyl derivatives (TBDMS) and the methyl derivatives (Me). The data, so developed, should aid in the identification not only of the compounds specifically examined in these experiments, but also in the development of algorithms for the identification of classes of compounds in complex mixtures. This is a small-business set-aside, NAICS Code 541710, size standard of 500 employees. The contract will be for a base year and 2 option years. All responsible small businesses may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments and all questions and answers related to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizops.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about April 4, 2002 and will only be available on FEDBIZOPS at the above website. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. There is no written solicitation document available, telephone requests will not be honored and no bidder lists will be maintained. Potential offerors are required to direct all questions via email to marsha.rodgers@nist.gov. NUMBER NOTES: 1 & 26 NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (21-MAR-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 19-AUG-2002. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
