Description

ISSUE DATE: 4 SEPTEMBER 2002 Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, transportation, supervision, equipment, and disposal to repair heating and sanitary plumbing systems of an occupied building at USCG Station Rockland, Rockland, Maine. The work includes replacement of thirty-eight (38) secondary circulating pumps including modifications to the adjacent fin-tube radiation (FTR) valves and supply tubing; replacement of the oil-fired burner and controls on existing 797 MBH hot water boiler; providing new FTR in second floor classroom including associated piping and thermostat control; replacement of approximately 50 linear feet of cast iron no-hub sanitary pipe and associated fittings and couplings. On site work is limited to 4 weeks. NAICS code is 235110. Estimated cost range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 9/4/02. The date for receipt of quotes is on or about 9/26/02 at 4:00 pm local time. Our office no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
