- The U.S. Coast Guard intends to solicit, and award a sole-source procurement to Energy Storage Technologies, Inc in Dayton Ohio for the following Emergency storage and transportation for Anthrax vaccine: Item 001, 35 ea vaxipac, model number VXP 1, with crating and handling requirements included. The Vaxipac is white in color and contain a locking clasp on the lid. The vaxipac will have a carrying handle and the system will be insulated with .75 inches of vacupanel insulation. The vaxipac must comply with the following thermal maintenance specifications using a 3.5 pound PCM bag @ 10 degrees Celsius and maintaining a mean temperature of 10 degree Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius with the payload area: 18 hours at 48 degrees Celsius; 24 hours at 37 degree Celsius; 30 hours at 39 degree 30 degrees Celsius and 40 hours at 24 degrees Celsius. The vaxipac dimensions are: Exterior - 7.75 inches wide, 15 inches in length and 11.38 inches high; Interior ? 3.45 inches wide, 9.25 inches in length and 7.25 inches high. Payload area (with 3.5 pound PCM bag): 3.45 inches wide, 9.25 inches in length and 1.75 inches high. Item 002, 70 ea VaxiSafe - +7 model number VXS 1, with crating and handling requirement included. The vaxisafe maintains a temperature between 2 and 8 degrees C in the vaxipack for more that 30 hours at an ambient temperature of 24 degrees C. Item 003, 4 ea Vaxicool Standard, model VXC-1. Item 004, 4 ea vaxicool battery 12 volt 38 amp hour, model VXC-1-01, with crating and handling requirements included. The Coast Guard is seeking equivalent cold storage and transportation units that may meet our needs. The NAICS Code is 339112, the small business size standard is 750 employees. The contract rype will be a firm-fixed price. The Responses may be sent to POC above or faxed to (510) 437-3014. If no responses are received within fifteen (15) days with sufficient information to determine that another responsible sources is available, the negotiations will be conducted with Energy Storage Technologies, Inc. NO TELEPHONE INQUIRES WILL BE ACCEPTED. The solicitation will be issued on or about 09 September 2002, closing on or about 23 September 2002. The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts.
