- NA This is a Sources Sought synopsis for Historically Black Colleges and Universities Minority Institutions (HBCU/MI). This is not a Solicitation or a Request for Proposals. The government is not obligated to award any contract. This Sources Sought synopsis r equests information needed prior to any Requests for Proposals. The Defense Contracting Command-Washington (DCC-W) seek capable HBCU/MI sources to provide services in support of Department of the Army environmental pollution research, energy efficiency and utilization, technology testing and evaluation, environmental remediation, technology transfer, data collection and management, and related information technology requirements. Qualifying institutions should be capable of providing personnel who can do th e necessary research at the appropriate level and who have experience working with the Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, and state and local government and agencies. Based upon responses r eceived, any future requirement may be considered for an HBCU/MI set-aside under DFARS Part 26. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 541710, Environmental Research and Development Services. Interested HBCU/MI should send an e-mail t o ronald.blue@hqda.army.mil. All valid Internet responses from prospective HBCU/MI must provide the return Internet e-mail address, contract name and title, mailing address, telephone number, and facsimile number in the response. Responses without this inf ormation will not be recognized as valid. To assist in planning the acquisition strategy, please answer succinctly the following: (1) Describe your institution's research capabilities as it relates to the technical areas requested under this request: (a) E ngineering (b) Chemistry (c) Environmental Sciences (d) Biological Sciences (e) Technology related to Pollution Prevention and Remediation (Including applicable information technology areas) (2) Describe your institutions size relative to student populatio n, include # of student in the academic disciplines that are related to the scope of services described in this Sources Sought. (3) Provide your institutions information on past government contracts and grants, include contracting officer and contract info rmation. (4) Provide your institutions information on current govenment contracts and grant's, include contracting officer and contact information. E-MAIL responses are preferred, but facsimile responses will be accepted at (703)695-9756. No Solicitation exists at this time. We recommend that you respond to this notice, including all information above, if you want to be notified electronically when the solicitation is issued. Offerors who request to be notified will be informed via e-mail.
