- Description
- The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a non-competitive, sole source contract to Charles River Associates to assist FDA in its development of methods to evaluate the safety of tissue engineered medical products (TEMPS). These studies will include in vitro assessments as well as in vivo assessments in small rodents and in larger animals as deemed appropriate. Work involves implanting scaffolds into the animal body to support the growth of host tissue or using tissue in vitro to grow cells which are then implanted with or without the scaffold. Special knowledge in host response, tissue processing and histopathology analysis is required. Other parties interested in and capable of performing this work shall submit their capability statement on or before September 6, 2002.
