- NA WORK SCOPE: This project is to electro statically paint 3 static display aircraft, two each RF 101 Voodoo?s and one RF 4C Phantom. The new finish shall be an electro statically applied low VOC polyurethane finish, using equipment that meets current safety and environmental regulatory standards. The successful bidder will: a. Furnish all required equipment and supplies to include primers, paints, masking materials, electrostatic spraying equipment, solvents, cleaners, prep materials, etc. b. Use RUST-OLEUM Paints, Primers, and Recommended Solvents. RUST-O-THANE 9400 System Polyurethane Enamel high gloss. All color charts provided by the KYANG as well as paint schemes i.e., 4 color South East Asia Camouflage scheme on the RF101?s and 2 col or, Wrap Around Grey Camouflage scheme on the RF-4 c. Contractor must provide samples of colors to be approved by project officer. d. Prior to painting, thoroughly clean and prepare all surfaces by removing all dirt, contaminants, etc. e. Take steps necessary to insure proper adhesion of primer and paint coatings. f. Apply as many coats of epoxy primer (HS9381) necessary to achieve a dry film thickness of a minimum of 5 mils. Activator for epoxy primer is product #9304. g. Apply as many coats of paint (9492) necessary to achieve a dry film thickness of a minimum of 4 mils. Activator for paint is rust-o-thane product #9410 h. Provide and use a Mil Gage Tester for (Aluminum) to accurately determine primer and paint thickness. i. Must maintain 100% coverage on all surfaces of product application. j. Be registered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) k. Be registered with the Jefferson County Air Pollution Control District. l. Provide Material Safety Data sheets on all products used. m. Provide the KYANG their Hazardous Waste disposal permit. n. Provide complete supervision and all labor throughout entire work scope. o. Provide proof of receipt for purchase of all paint and primer products. p. Provide mixing formula for paint products used. q. Use a Ransburg #2 handgun in the electrostatic painting process. r. Upon completion of work scope job sight will be clean and free of all hazardous waste material generated by contractor. s. Provide final disposal of all hazardous waste material. t. Upon completion of work scope contractor will provide the KYANG documentation of all hazardous waste disposal. u. Provide minimum of 1 quart of each paint product for touch-up to project officer. v. The 123rd MXS Commander or designee prior to contractor departure will give final approval authority. NOTE: Prior to start of work scope all companies involved will provide the KYANG with all Certifications, Registrations, and Accreditations, required by the state of Kentucky, EPA, and local Air Pollution Control District of Jefferson County. Time allotted for this project is 4 to 6 working days per aircraft weather permitting
