Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Faraday LLC of Tecumseh, MI, for the purchase of 350 surface mount clocks with male plugs, 58th minute movement, Part Number 2311BB-12-15D. ***Sole source determination is based on the fact that NIST is currently upgrading the clock system to operate from the atomic time scale. NIST's existing master clock with 58th minute movement was manufactured by Faraday LLC (previously The Standard Time Company) and , Faraday LLC is the sole vendor who can provide this equipment to ensure 100% compatibility with existing master clock operation & clock movement. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 30 days after receipt of order. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334518, and the size standard is 500 employees.***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by September 05, 2002. ***A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
