- 28th Air Armament Symposium at Eglin AFB FL: The Air Armament Center (AAC) and the Gulf Coast Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) are jointly hosting the 28th Air Armament Symposium at Eglin AFB, Florida on 9-10 October 2002. This annual symposium offers an outstanding opportunity to strengthen government-to-industry relationships and provides industry an understanding of future AAC business opportunities and transformation initiatives. Symposium presentations will foster an excellent exchange of information with key leaders on technical developments and acquisition issues affecting the future of air armament. Symposium presentations will also examine future warfighter requirements and the weaponization challenges of tomorrow. This year?s theme is ?Transforming the Air Armament Enterprise? and Symposium presentations will discuss many Air Force and DoD transformation initiatives affecting future requirements and technologies. Industry is encouraged to share solutions, information, and ideas. This year?s Symposium will be a classified forum, restricted to U.S. Government and DoD Contractors. U.S. citizenship is required. Foreign participation is excluded. All attendees will be required to submit a valid security clearance to AAC/XP for approval. A Social/Mixer will also be held on the evening of 9 October 2002 at the Air Force Armament Museum for all registered attendees and their guests. Seating is limited and registration will be offered on a first-come basis only. Event information, including a brochure and on-line registration, are available at http://www.meetingmattersplus.com. Attendance cost is $75 for Government and $125 for Industry personnel. After 20 September 2002, a registration fee of $100 for Government and $150 for Industry personnel will be charged. Following the 28th Air Armament Symposium on 11 October 2002, the Air Force Association (AFA) will host a Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Eglin Golf Course with a shotgun start beginning at 07:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and an Awards Reception will be held following the tournament. An AFA Golf Tournament registration form is available at the Symposium?s web site on a separate registration form, which is located at the back of the event brochure, for a separate charge. This form must be sent separately to the AFA Scholarship Foundation at the address shown on the bottom of the registration form.
