Description
NA CONTACT Mr. S.H. Wiesenberg, Production Engineer,(732)427-5507. The U.S. Army CECOM is conducting a market survey for parties interested/eligible to provide Lensatic, Magnetic Compasses which meet the requirements of MIL-PRF-10436M dated 15 September 1998 , with Amendment 1 dated 16 April 2001. NSN is 6605-01-196-6971. Anticipated quantities to be procured are 60,000 per year (range from 24,000 to 72,000 per year) for five years. The U.S. Army CECOM plans on satisfying this requirement by extending exis ting 5-year IDIQ Contract DAAB07-99-D-D808 with Cammenga and Associates Incorporated, Holland, MI. Special Standards of Responsibility involving radioactive licensing apply. If radioactive material (e.g. tritium) is utilized to meet the specification, the potential offeror must possess and cite the applicable U.S. NRC license for the manufacture and for the distribution of these compasses to persons totally exempted from licensing requirements, and have experience in obtaining, using and controlling such m aterial. Otherwise, the potential offer must describe an alternate design concept and materials to be utilized to meet the 12-year self luminosity requirement. In addition, the potential offeror must describe capability and experience in producing compasse s or similar items. Since the current manufacturer is a small business, should the acquisition be competed, a small business set aside will be applicable. Therefore, state if you are a large or small business and include any small business classification such as woman owned, 8(a), disadvantaged or Hubzone. See MIL-PRF-10436M with Amendment 1 at CECOM Business Opportunities on the Internet at http://abop.monmouth.army.mil. For additional information, contact Mr. Seymour Wiesenberg, Production Engineer,(73 2)427-5507, or Mr. David Mace at (732) 532-5892. Closing date of this announcement is 20 September 2002.
