The Telemetry and Data Reduction Branch of RTTC will use these explosive assemblies in the fabrication of Telemetry/Flight Termination Systems for Army TACMS. These systems are being built from an existing and proven drawing package which specifies the type explosives and assemblies to be used. These systems will be performing the critical function of terminating missile flight in the event of on-board failures or similar emergencies, which would cause the missile to stray from the intended flight path. McCormick Selph explosive systems have been approved for use by the White Sands Missile Range. Systems are required in the second quarter of FY03 and open competition will take additional time that will impact the test schedule for the ATACMS program. Environmental qualification testing would be required of any other potential vendors, a cost not likely to be recovered through open competition. Price must include all charges, including shipping and handling. This is a Firm-Fixed-Priced requirement. Commercial Item Clauses apply to this contract (FAR 52.212-1, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, 52.212-5). You must complete Reps & Certs in 52.212-3 and return with your proposal. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 2.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice, and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. GovWorks, Procurement Operations Branch, Dept of the Interior, is the contracting office in support of Redstone Technical Test Center, Redstone Arsenal, AL, for this procurement.
