Description
The Administration on Aging(AoA) through the Program Support Center (PSC) has a Ten (10) month simplified acquisition requirement for the highly specialized services of a seasoned document writer and editor who has experience in developing materials for a diverse consumer audience and writing for the Web. The purpose of this requirement is to provide professional consultation and assistance to AoA in writing and editing consumer publications, checklists, assessment tools, and resource materials for the Eldercare Locator Website. The materials to be developed will provide older persons and their caregivers educational information about aging services, disease, conditions, situations, research and a wide variety of other important topics, to help people better understand and handle their own living circumstances associated with aging and caregiving. The following are qualifications of the proposed contractor: 1. Expert knowledge in planning for, writing and editing consumer publications, checklists, assessment tools, and resource materials for printing and the Web. 2. Expert knowledge in writing publications for special target populations, including the elderly, low literacy, culturally diverse and professionals. 3. Expert knowledge in graphic design, including knowledge of publishing software, to ensure the material s developed are packaged appropriately and are visually appealing. 4. Knowledge of the operating procedures of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)and Government Printing Office (GPO) with particular emphasis on the Department?s publication policies. 5. Knowledge of the National Aging Network and the issues and concerns affecting older persons and their caregivers. All firms interested in being considered for this potential acquisition shall request a copy of the solicitation in writing to the above address by 3:30pm est on August 7, 2002. No e-mail or fax requests will be accepted. Note: This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside.
