Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to procure on a sole source basis with FEI Company, Hillsboro, OR to provide a maintenance agreement for one (1) Phillips/FEI Model CM30 Twin Lens Transmission Electron Microscope (S/N D633) and one (1) Phillips/FEI STEM Unit (S/N D633-1), under the authority of FAR 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. Service includes parts and labor with a 48-hr. response time. This is a sole source procurement since FEI as the manufacturer of the equipment possesses the technical expertise, equipment, replacement parts and an in-state service representative necessary to repair and maintain the instrument with minimal downtime. A firm fixed price Purchase Order will be issued on or about Sept. 16, 2002 with a 12-mo. performance period and two (2) 1-yr. Option periods. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competition. However, the Government will consider all responses received by the closing date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available.
