Description
USAID/Egypt intends to modify contract No. 263-C-00-97-00026-00 with the Institute of International Education, 1400 K Street, NW, Washington D.C. 20005. The modification will extend the current contract expiration date by eleven months from Jan. 6, 2003 to o/a Nov. 5, 2003. The proposed contract extension will enable continuation of on-going technical assistance providing services to plan, program, and manage all training activities funded under the Development Training 2 Program. The contract extension will, thus, serve as a bridging mechanism in order to concurrently undertake an appropriate competitive contract action for a multi-year centralized follow-on training activity. USAID/Egypt intends to solicit and negotiate non-competitively with only one source under the authority of AIDAR 706.302-70. Therefore, this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested persons may, however, identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Any proposals received within forty-five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract modification based upon responses, if any, to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
