- Description
- It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to procure services on a sole source basis from Dr. Sandra Davenport, Bloomington, Minnesota. The professional services to be performed consist of the delivery of hours of professional services in support of the following tasks: 1) To provide final review of the medical content an d genetic disease subtypes for all genetic diseases description and links. 2) To ensure that the descriptions of the effects of genetic mutations match the medical descriptions of disease therapy and prognosis related to clinical trials. 3) To create online content and hyperlinks for genetic diseases involving hearing loss, vision loss, developmental delays, neurological and sensory deficits. This would involve mapping the content to be created, including the disease subtypes and the genes involved. This would also involve writing disease descriptions for this set of diseases and working with other genetics professionals involved in content creation. 4) To work with Ph.D. geneticists to match the disease subtypes with the specific genes. Dr. Davenport is a physician who is Board Certified Clinical Geneticist (the American Board of Medical Genetics and with extensive professional and educational experience in both genetic diseases and research on informatics projects. Her extensive (30 year) background and knowledge of hearing loss, vision loss, development delays, neurological and sensory deficits and causative genetic basis makes her invaluable for this project. She will offer insights from both an academic and private practice perspective and from extensive working with patients, families, health care practitioners, state and federal agencies related to both medical and social services aspects of the families dealing with individuals affected with these disorders. Her work on informatics research and internet communications with patients, families, and providers will prove essential to the successful completion of this project. The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items. This is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsive sources may submit a proposal in a timely manner in which will be considered by NLM. Firms interested in responding to the notice must be able to provide the referenced services as specified above. Responses must be in writing and must be received in the office within fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication date of this notice. Proposal must include pricing information.
