Description: The overall goal of the work is to partially characterize the transcriptome of cultivated grape. The Contractor will identify molecular phenotypes of Vitis vinifera that are correlated with agronomic properties (e.g., disease resistance, fruit development, fruit quality). The more objectives of this grape genomics project are to: 1) identify by complete cDNA sequence analysis 10,000 unigenes, representing abundant mRNAs, and 2) identify transcriptional pathways that are correlated with agronomic qualities.
