Description

The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Administrative Support Center (EASC) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Vemco, Limited, for ultrasonic transmitter monitor and miniature ultrasonic pingers equipment. This equipment replaces and upgrades existing Vemco equipment and data analysis software currently used by NOAA Fisheries Atlantic Salmon Research and Conservation Task, as well as Canadian scientists in the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. For continuity of operations, as part of an integrated international monitoring system, it is mission critical to procure components that are compatible with existing systems. The statutory authority for this action is 41 USC 253(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. Interested parties may identify their interest and must provide evidence of their capability to respond to the requirement by August 21, 2002. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a sufficient number of sources are available for competition.
