Description

The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service, has a requirement for services to take, cdesseminate and record radiosonde observations as required by the National Weather Service Office, Greensboro, North Carolina. Services include two daily soundings and six special soundings during the contract year. Services also include prevbentative maintenance of equipment and administrative duties. The anticipated period of performance is October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003, plus two one-year priced options. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) is 541990. All responsible small business sources may submit an offer which will be considered. The solicitation document will be issued on or about August 22, 2002. Request for the solicitation shall be in writing to the contracting office. Telephone requests shall not be accepted. Requests may be faxed to (757) 441-6526. No contract award will be made on the basis of bids received in response to this notice since this synopsis cannot be considered an invitation for bid.
