- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to negotiate a purchase order with the New Wave Research Company to continue to provide the Solo PIV 120 nd: YAG Laser System. The YAG Laser System is currently in place with the FHWA?s application system in their hydraulics laboratory. The YAG system is specialized scientific equipment for use in the imaging velocimetry. The system enhances as well as provides the ability to visualize flow and measure flow fields in order to evaluate hydraulic performance and scour countermeasures. Because New Wave Research Company is the only manufacturer for their product; they are the only known source that can provide the laser system. This is a modification to an existing order and a Simplified Acquisition the anticipated award date is August 21, 2002.
