Description

The Government intends to issue and negotiate a sole source firm-fixed price contract with Custom Pools, Inc under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider capabilities of other interested parties if received within seven days of this publication synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The proposed contract action is to renovate the Randolph AFB Center Pool (approximately 70 years old) to include a new chlorination system, a new drainage system and new pool decking. The intended work is to either replace the existing piping and disinfection equipment or to retrofit the pool with an improved circulation system. The pool has a vinyl liner, which would require penetration to get to the return drain lines at the bottom of the pool. The most critical technical issue is associated with the disinfection system and the distribution system. Contractor must be an authorized distributor of Natare Corporation in order to maintain the integrity of the pool liner and its warranty. The applicable NAICS is 235990 and the small business size is 12.0M. The magnitude of this contract action is between $250,000 and $500,000.
