- NAICS Code: 541380 General Instrument Requirement(GIR): 1.1 Provide a fully automated mercury sample preparation and analyzer system. 1.2 The preparation system must be capable of use on a variety of sample matrices including solids and sediments; surface and groundwater. 1.3 The analyzer system shall be capable of analyzing samples digested using the preparation system of section 1.2. 1.4 Both the preparation system (section 1.2) and analyzer system (section 1.3) shall be capable for use with EPA methods 1631 and 245.7. 1.5 Mercury Preparation System: The preparation system shall be capable of digesting samples un attended according to selected methods. The system shall have options for additional digestion methods as necessary. 1.5.1 The system shall provide reproducible computer controlled delivery of reagents and timing of the digestions process. 1.5.2 The system should ensure automatic mixing to provide for digests homogeneity. 1.5.3 The data system shall enable the creation of sample identification information and other related records. 1.5.4 The software used shall be compatible with other windows spreadsheets or word processing for report generation. 1.6 Mercury Analyzer System: The mercury analyzer shall provide for automated sample introduction for analysis by means of an integrated autosampler chemical processing, dual atomic fluorescence detection, data collection, and report generation. 1.6.1 The system shall operate in such that minimizes carry over and protects against samples with high mercury concentration protection. 1.6.2 The detectors shall have sufficient resolution to achieve detection limits of 1ppt under conditions of Method 245.7 and 0.05ppt under conditions of Method 1631. 1.6.3 The software used shall be compatible with other windows based spreadsheets or word processing for report generation and LIMS connectivity.
