- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation FHQ02Q00685 is being issued as a request for quotation. This solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-08. This requirement is being synopsized under North American Industry Classification System code 333313, standard industrial classification code 3579, size standard 1,000 employees. EQUIPMENT AND QUANTITY TO BE ACQUIRED: 1 EACH: Multi Purpose Extractor (MPE) 7.5, with installation and training. MPE 7.5 is a modular automatic envelope extractor with expansion capability to print, scan and read MICR lines. MPE 7.5 will be used by FMS to process approximately 40,000-60,000 checks monthly by opening, extracting, and separating check and inserts, and verifying each extraction; 1 EACH: Mail Tray Holder; 1 EACH: Milling Cutter MPE 7.5; 1 EACH: Maintenance for MPE 7.5 and Milling Cutter; and 1 EACH: Option for additional maintenance on the MPE 7.5 and Milling Cutter. NOTE: Place of delivery and acceptance: Department of the Treasury, Financial Management Service, Philadelphia Finance Center, 3000 Townsend Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154 with delivery FOB Destination 45 days after receipt of order. This is NOT set-aside for small businesses. The Department of Treasury, 401-14th Street, SW, Washington, DC 20227, intends to award a sole source purchase order to OPEX Corporation, 305 Commerce Drive, Moorestown, NJ 08057-4234, utilizing simplified acquisition procedures. The following provisions and clauses apply: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offeror-Commercial Items (Oct 2000); Clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (Feb 2002), is hereby incorporated by reference; and FAR clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items (May 2002); and FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items (Jan 1999) is hereby incorporated by reference. Quotes will be evaluated on the basis of technical capability, inclusive of maintenance; price; and delivery; FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications--Commercial Items (May 2002). Include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items with the quote. The following clauses apply to this solicitation and the resultant contract: 52.217-3, 52.217-9(a) 10 days, 30 days, (c) 27 months; and 52.232-18. All vendors/prospective contractors must be registered in the CCR database (www.ccr.gov) prior to the award date. Responses to this announcement are due 4:30 pm EST, August 20, 2002. If vendor is not registered or active by 4:30 pm EST on August 20, 2002, vendor quote will be considered non-responsive.
